A comparative study on perceived accident risk among the cyclists, motorcyclists and drivers in the mixed traffic.

In Malaysia, motorcycles are a common mode of ransportation, while cycling has recently had a resurgence in popularity, primarily as a form of recreation and sport. Road accidents happen often in Malaysia and are getting worse every year. This study investigates risk perceptions among cyclists, motorcyclists, and drivers in order to develop and implement mitigation strategies to improve road safety for cyclists,
motorcyclists, and drivers in mixed traffic in Malaysia, with the aim of reducing the accident rate. The focus of this study was on working drivers and motorcyclists as well
as recreational cyclists in Penang. Through a questionnaire, demographic data and selfreported risk perception were collected. Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) was utilized to perform the statistical analysis. This research evaluated the significant difference in risk perception between cyclists, motorcyclists, and drivers.
Although there is a significant difference in the socio demographic, experience, and characteristics of travel for drivers, motorcyclists, and cyclists, only 3 variables out of 16 self-reported perceived risks are significant differences, which are: the respondents have no problem adapting their driving, riding, or cycling to road surface conditions; the respondents can be lost in their thoughts when driving, riding, or cycling; and the presence of someone with the respondents in the car or on the motorcycle or behind them distracts them and deteriorates their driving, riding, or cycling. There is only 1 variable out of 3 self-reported perceived risks towards other road users that has a significant difference, which is among the drivers and the cyclists that they will reduce their speed
when they see motorcycles on the road.

Division Of Housework Among Married Indian Women During The Covid-19 Pandemic In Malaysia

The study aims to explore the division of housework among Indian married working women during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings show that reasons that lead to unequal division of housework include: (i) housework is routine work for women; (ii) obligation; (iii) women uphold higher cleanliness and tidiness standards than men; (iv) traditional gender roles and parents’ socialisation; and (v) time availability. The findings also highlights that informants experienced stressed and dissatisfied with the unequal division of housework during the COVID-19 pandemic because housework is considered as women’s responsibility and not men's.

Simulation Studies Of Push, Conwip And Modified Conwip Systems In A Wafer Fabrication Environment

Wafer fabrication is a front-end semiconductor manufacturing. Notoriously
complex, it has attracted voluminous researchers to improve its production planning
and control. This study is a fundamental research with the aim to obtain greater
understanding of the basic aspects of conwip-based systems in the wafer
fabrication environment. This comparison was achieved by five production control
systems in a manufacturing environment emulating the complexity of wafer
fabrication. These include push, constant work-in-process (conwip) and modified
conwip systems (conload, m-conwip and nested conwip). Except nested
conwip, the other systems are methods established in different industries. Nested
conwip is a newly conceived method in this research to allow early release of
complementary cards to influence job selection. Characteristics of interest relevant
to wafer fabrication are the re-entrant process flow, job dependent setup, job mix,
priority and batching. The performance measures considered are total output (to),
total critical output (tco), average flow time (avgft), standard deviation flow time
(sdft), average waiting time (avgwt) and machine utilization (mutil). The study
was performed by using the discrete event simulation and statistical analysis. The
selection of parameters, variables and performance measures in the simulation was
relatively based on a wafer fabrication case study. For statistical analysis, analysis of
variance (anova) determined the relationship between variables and performance
measures for each system.

Micro-Crack Detection Of Solar Cells Featuring Adaptive Anisotropic Diffusion Filter And Semi-Supervised Support Vector Learning

In this thesis, a machine vision-based application for detecting micro-crack in
an electro luminescence (el) image of solar cell is presented. The detection is
a very challenging problem due to the complexity of the textural properties and
background inhomogeneity of el images. Nevertheless, the micro-crack defect
exhibits some unique properties such as high in gradient and low gray-levels. These
properties together with the shape feature of the micro-crack are used in developing
the detection algorithm. In this work, an image processing algorithm featuring an
adaptive anisotropic diffusion filter and a segmentation technique based on twostage
thresholding is proposed. The outcomes of this algorithm have demonstrated
a highly accurate segmentation results compared to other standard methods. Based
on the accuracy measure, the proposed methods achieve the highest f-measure of
0.0821. The local image features such as shape representation of the binary connected
components are extracted and used in the machine learning to distinguish between
cracked and good solar cells.

Design, Fabrication And Performance Analysis Of Su-8 Piezoresistive Micro Pressure Sensor

In this thesis, su-8 piezoresistive micro pressure sensor is designed, modeled
and fabricated, and its performance is characterized. As piezoresistive micro
pressure sensor is commonly fabricated using silicon, many issues and challenges
such as selection of piezoresistor material, release method and sensitivity
enhancement need to be tackled in order to develop successful su-8 piezoresistive
micro pressure sensor. The novelty of this research focuses on integrating micro
pressure sensor with su-8/silver composite (su-81ag) as piezoresistor, ohp
transparency as substrate and novel dry release method as release protocol. Su-8 is
selected as structural material for micro pressure sensor due to its low cost and easy
to fabricate. Besides, the low young's modulus of su-8 provides better sensitivity
compared to silicon. Analytical method using small deflection theories of plate and
fmite element analysis (fea) via ansys® are carried out to characterize the
diaphragm thickness. Both methods show thickness at 147j.1m provides optimum
sensitivity and linearity for 6000j.1m square su-8 diaphragm. Fea is also applied to
find the most suitable geometry and the best location of piezoresistors for improved
sensitivity. A simple and low cost protocol is established to fabricate su-8 based
pressure sensor.

Influence Of Palm Oil Fuel Ash As A Supplementary Binder On Properties Of Self-Compacting Concrete

Palm oil fuel ash (pofa) obtained from a palm oil mill was subjected to
treatment process via sieving, grinding and heat treatment in order to improve its
particles size and its potential reactivity as pozzolanic material in self-compacting
concrete (sec). The treated pofa was then utilized as partial cement replacement in
the production of see with pofa contents of 0%, 20%, 40% and 60% by mass of
ordinary portland cement (opc). The properties of fresh scc mixes were explored
through slump flow, slump flow t5oo, l-box, sieve stability as well as proctor
penetration tests where the inclusion of pofa at replacement of 60% gave excellent
results which satisfied the stipulated requirement for scc. On contrary, the hardened
properties of see was evaluated through compressive strength, porosity, initial
surface absorption (i sat), gas permeability, water permeability, rapid chloride
permeability (rept) and rapid chloride migration (rmt) tests. The results
obtained indicated significant improvement in the hardened scc properties with the
inclusion of pofa. Sce with 40% pofa exhibits the greatest compressive strength
value which exceeded the targeted strength of 50 mpa. [n term of durability related
properties, all pofa-scc mixes showed better properties than the opc-sec, where
the mix containing 60 % pofa exhibiting the greatest improvement at 180 days of
water-curing period for all tests.

Building A Better Workplace With Employee Engagement

Employee engagement is a vast construct that touches almost all parts of human resource
management facets we know. If every part of human resources is not addressed in appropriate
manner, employees fail to fully engage themselves in their job response to such kind of
mismanagement. The construct employee engagement is built on the foundation of earlier
concepts like job satisfaction, employee commitment and organizational citizenship behavior.
Employee engagement is stronger predictor of positive organizational performance clearly
showing the two-way relationship between employer and employee. Although there is a growing
body of literature investigating employee engagement, scholars have noted that academic
research lags behind practitioner developments. This is particularly notable with respect to the
role of immediate supervisor. The novel of the study would be to introduce the supervisory
support has the moderating effects on employee engagement. Employee engagement is a deep
and broad connection that employees have with a company that results in a willingness to go
above and beyond what's expected of them to help their company succeed.

Perindustrian Pesat Dan Perhubungan Persekutuan-Negeri Di Malaysia: Kajian Kes Negeri Pulau Pinang

Further Improvement Of Analytical Methods For The Determination Of Arteether Derivatives (Artemether Arteether And Tiiefr Metabolites) In Biological Fluids: Application To Pharmacokinetic Studies

Artcmisinin (qi-is) and its derivatives are the most pronusing compounds
against multidrug resistant falciparum malaria. Artemethcr (arm) and artecther (are)
were found to be more effective than their parent compound, qhs. The objectives of
the study were to improve the sensitivity of the analytical methods for the quantification
of arm and are, together with their majur metabolite, dihydroartemisinin (dqhs) in
plasma, and to study the pharmacokinetics of arm in healthy volunteers and in patients
with uncomplicated falciparum malaria.
The present study has developed a rapid, selective, reproducible and specific
high performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detector for the
determination of arm and dqi-is with the sensitivity limit in plasma of 2.5 and 1.25
ng/ml respectively. Through minor modifications, the analytical procedure was extended
to the analysis of are in plasma with a sensitivity limit of 5.0 ng/ml. The method was
succesfully applied in clinical pharmacological studies of arm in human.

Which Moufang Loops Are Associative

A loop is a Moufang loop if it fulfills the identity xy. zx = (x- yz)x. Nonassociative
(i.e., non-group) Moufang loops of order 24, 34 and p5(p is a prime greater than 3)
are known to exist. It has also been proven that all Moufang loops of order
2a (a s 3), 3fJ (P s 3) and pY (y s 4) are associative.
The aim of our research is to study the following problem:
"Given a positive integer m, are all Moufang loops of order m
associative?"
Since O. Chein has studied the problem extensively for even values of m, we Limit our
research to odd values of m in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3. Writing m as the product of
powers of distinct odd primes, we answer the question above affirmatively for the
following values of m:

Modeling Of High Performance Surface Mount Molded Pqfp Packages

Surface mount plastic packaging technology has evolved in
order to meet the stringent standards demanded by high
density and low cost integrated circuits devices. The
internal heatsink plastic quad flat pack (pqfp) has been
developed to replace the traditional single layer pqfp in
order to enhance the package's electrical and thermal
performance. Higher external package warpage is observed on
heatsink package compared to the traditional package and
thus this might affect the reliability and performance of
the package.
This study aims to set some guidelines regarding the
standard design rules for heats ink sizes and die sizes for
28x28 mm pqfp heatsink package. This will lead to
improvement in the process assembly procedure and hence
reduction in leadframe cost. The software mechanica
developed by rasna corporation which utilizes the p-version
finite element method is used in this study to analyze the
impact of heatsink sizes and die sizes on the package
warpage and thermal performance of the package.
